Swedish Butter Cookies with a twist of maple syrup. The dough is rolled into logs, baked and cut into diagonal pieces while still warm.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Log Cabin (maple) syrup
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Sift last two ingredients.ย 
  2. Cream butter and sugar.ย 
  3. Add syrup, flour, and soda.ย 
  4. Mix well.ย 
  5. Divide dough into 8 parts.ย 
  6. Roll into 9 inch logs.ย 
  7. Place logs on cookie pans as far apart as possible.ย 
  8. Bake 300โ„‰ 15 to 30 minutes.ย 
  9. Cut diagonally into one inch pieces while still warm.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar
